| Appears there was a malfuncction in the contraption some way or another! But you are right, man does need all his faculties about him to handle a crisis such as this! This would be almost embarrasing to awake and discover yourself in this condition/situation! Would not do for this to happen in an all night restaurant!! LMAO! | |

| Working in those establishments, when I was quite a bit younger, I being in the shadows, observed manydifferant behaverial traits when booze and beautiful women were involved. One of them was fall down drunkeness. I knew early that that particular state of condition was detrimental to ones health, reputation, and bank account. So I would get tipsy to the point of almost staggering ,(which was bad in itself) and then I would excuse myself and go home. | |

| It is a good thing to know one's limits and not exceed them! Shows there was still some common sense even through the fog!! Reminds me of the gambler's song by Kenny Rogers. You've got to know when to hold em', know when to fold em', know when to walk away and know whe to run. Lof of truth there!! | |

| It is a rule I have lived by my whole adult life. At times I didn't heed the rules of this and paid for my mistakes. | |

| I think we all exceed our limits from time to time and have to be reminded of what they are! The one platitude I have always fallen back on is the comment about experience is what you get when you don't get what you wanted! My CPA picked that up from me many years ago and we both get a grin out of it quite frequently! | |

| Hey guys, I had to chime in here with me experience. My Dad was a raging alcoholic & in fact That's what caused me to leave my family when I was 15 years old. Living that nightmare made me swear that I would never abuse booze or let my kids see me that way. I used to have a drink at social affairs or a few beers after a round of golf but now I don't recall the last time I had a drink, or my wife for that matter. I guess that in a twisted way my Dad did me a favor. | |

| You had a good learning experiance to keep you from abusing something that could ruin your life. I had to learn the hard way, buts that usually the why I learn things. I never learned until it kicked me in the head. My father, when I turned 16 told me it was ok for me to have a beer or two. His reasoning was soon I would be drafted. He told me that I may have to go to war at age18 but I could not vote until I was 21 and that I could not drink in a bar until 21. To be honest I did not think about drinking at that age. I was working hard to save money to build my 56 Chevy hotrod. That was all I cared about back then. At 17 a freind of mine brought with him a six pack of Shaeffer beer that his older brother had given him. His brother Barry had just got back from Nam, he was a Marine and saw heavey action there. So he told my freind Ritchie the same thing my father had told me. Sooooo 2 of the same comments were good enough for me. It took me 40 some years to figure out I didn't need it to survive. I was lucky, I never hurt anything but myself, some haven't been that fortunate. | |

| Although unfortunate there is always a brighter side of things! Sometimes it takes a while pondering through the events and trying to understand it but there always is a brighter side! Great that you learned the right things from such a horrible experience and you lived through it to share that with others. Hopefully they will gain some insight so they will not have to learn it the hard way!! | |

| I can share this experience with you guys-I know you'll understand. Moments before I got wounded in Vietnam I was sitting at the head of our ambush with a .60 cal machine gun. It was monsoon season and I looked up into the darkness just trying to see anything at all while it was raining cats and dogs and then........I saw two glaring eyes that met mine at the exact moment mine saw his. He had an AK-47 with his finger on the trigger. The thought that crossed my mind was....."Oh God please". I should have died right then but, I'll always believe that singular thought I had brought me through it. It still sends shivers up my spine even today. | |
