Subject: Beretta 9mm storm sub compact, Failure to load Thu Apr 25, 2013 7:50 pm
just put about 50 rounds thru my new Beratta. Having trouble with failure to loads. ejections seem to be no problem. When the mag gets to about 4 rounds the failure to load happens. But not 100% of the time however. sometimes it happens more randomly.
do you think i need to polish the feed ramp?
had the same problem with my Tauris 380 TCP. i polished the ramp and the problem went away. i havent' have one problem since.
so, i'm thinking polishing the feed ramp may also fix my Baretta.
Suggestions?

I think that would be a good start. You might want to take the mag apart and clean it. Maybe it has some grit or lint in it.

I would start with changing magazines. Most of the time FTF and relaated are mag problems. Then I would try three of four different brands of ammo. Use a micrometer on the ammo and double check against specs for each kind. They are different. Some ammo feeds better in different brands of guns and the best way to find out is to measure each and make certain which your gun likes best. With these days of shortages of ammo, it is best to be able to use any brand of ammo but your gun needs to reliably shoot what brand you are using. The mags, different brand of ammo and then look to the gun would be my process. Let us know how it is coming along.
