| Perry's anti-Washington message takes on a new tone [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]SAN ANTONIO — Texas Gov. Rick Perry, days away from the expected launch of his bid for the presidency, on Wednesday blamed federal overreach and runaway spending for the nation's economic turmoil and suggested that the low-tax, limited regulation approach that has characterized his style of governing in Texas could put the country on the right path. "I'll tell you, this West Texas optimist sees our brightest hour ... just around the corner," the state's longest serving governor told a bipartisan audience at the national meeting of the National Conference of State Legislatures. "But we're going to have our work cut out for us." Perry's address largely retraced the familiar anti-Washington themes he has sounded for years, but this time they sounded like planks in a presidential platform as he moves toward a bid for the 2012 Republican nomination. The Texas governor, who has been in the top tier of Republican candidates in political polls, is expected to effectively declare his intentions this weekend in a swing through South Carolina and two other battleground states. All adds up to what I have been saying - he is committed to a run for the WH and will announce in a matter of a very few days. Get ready America - It is coming soon!! Someone with the nads to take control and do things the right way regardless of who is in the way! | |

| I'm really excited to see how this will play out. I like the fact that he's a kick ass type of guy. The question is, who's ass is he going to kick? I'll be watching closely when he begins to explain the details of how he'll reduce the amount of Federal regulation that's holding us back. What exactly would he do to solve specific problems? He said that the problems we face are: 1. Federal over reach 2. Run away spending On face value that sounds pretty simple but, it doesn't come close to identifying all our problems, in fact it sound pretty "Polannyish". But that's just my opinion and I hope that as his campaign spreads out he'll discuss all this in detail. Something else he said that has me confused is this, "Texas is the epicenter of job creation." I'm sure he'll be quizzed about this statement but it left me wondering if he does have an understanding of the causes of our high unemployment. Oh well, at least he has the nads to stand up and take this on and he gets my respect for that. | |

| While the rest of the country has seen the job market shrink he has continued to develop the job market and produce the economic climate for adding more jobs! I do not know how he has done it but he has taken a lot of crap over development but it has continued to grow the jobs here! I like him because he stands up, takes a position and makes ti work for the betterment of our state. As I said before, not perfect but sure as hell a lot better than what we have had!! | |

| VV I read an article several weeks ago about the amount of jobs that were produced in the US a brag by barrckkkkk. Perry made it clear to the news media that Texas produced the largest percentage of the total and if it was not for Texas the amount would have been minimal. He has balls and does tell it like it is. | |

| Perry makes it official: He's in the hunt for GOP presidential nomination [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Fort Wroth newspaper and their take on the upcoming race w/Perry involved! CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Making his long-anticipated debut in national politics, Texas Gov. Rick Perry jumped into the 2012 presidential race Saturday, assailing President Barack Obama for "downgrading" America on a variety of fronts and for pursuing policies that have propelled the nation into an "economic disaster." As his wife, Anita, and their two grown children watched from the front row, Perry drew three standing ovations from a packed crowd of several hundred as he unveiled his presidential plans at a conservative gathering. With polls showing him in the upper tier of the Republican field, Perry's announcement instantly shook up the race for the GOP nomination and, at least for the moment, put him among the leading contenders. "It is time to get America working again," Perry said in a line that is likely to be a central theme of his campaign. "That's why, with the support of my family, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of America, I declare to you today my candidacy for president of the United States." Pretty stout words from a farm boy from west of Abilene!! JMHO!! | |

| I'm hoping that he will take the country by storm. I'm licking the fact that he told the public that the village idiot has downgraded everything he has touched. I have a problem with the Texas fatigue though, but if he stays sharp and takes them as they fire at him, I think he will do good. | |

| Can't help where he is from any more than Little Hitler!! If TX has something that is good, what difference does it make where he is from? If it is used right it should not matter and I think Perry will not let that get in the way! | |

| Do you guys know his position on abortion? I read an article in "Time" mag this week that said he was in favor of abortion but I don't trust much of what the media prints. When i'm looking for a candidate to support this is one of my first questions because I can't support anyone who favors murdering unborn children. | |

| I think he is pro choice the last I heard! Don't believe he would take the stance where he pushed something on someone but I also don't think he would deny someone of the choice for their own personal situation. I am telling you he looks to get the government out of legislating morals and reducing the size and control the government has over us! It is really past time as we have had enough of this crap for the last fifty or so years!! JMHO!! | |

| "Pro choice" is a deal breaker for me. Sorry but that's just something I can't live with, there are too many 15 year old pregnant females that don't have the morality/character to avoid people trying to talk them into abortions to satisfy their own agenda. Years late they may come to learn what their hasty decision really meant and that will be tough for them not to mention that a murder took place. | |

| I think that the Pro choice issue will wind up being the lesser of the evils when considering a Pub presidential canidate. Would you think that Mit Romney would be a better choice? I think not. I will dig into Bachman next time. Here is a report from Gun Reports. I recommend you all read this article. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |
